Obviously animals played a big part in Alta's life. She also trained dogs and even owned a pet shop so that she could play with the animals.

As Alta slips into the twilight of her life, she is limited to Noodles, The Wonder Cat and a pair of Russian tortoises. She also enjoys writing stories and poetry for her six grandchildren. Read The War Hero
